Hovave Rappaport Crystal Lights
Meet Hovave Rappaport
Born in 1954 in Kibbutz Bet-Alpha Israel, Hovave Rappaport graduated from Gilboa School as an Arts Major. After moving to Los Angeles in 1980, Rappaport began experimenting with sculpting using natural stone materials such as marble, granite and onyx. In 1986 Rappaport developed the definitive style of sculpting that would become his trademark: entrancing combinations of semi-precious crystals and minerals, heightened and rarefied by the addition of light. Rappaport’s exclusive methods of combining lighted elements with natural stone and crystals are entirely unique and unparalleled in the artistic and lapidary communities. Through his work, Rappaport affirms and magnifies the inherent beauty and energetic properties of natural stones and crystals. With remarkable intuitive sense, Rappaport creates art work that combines the curves and delineations of nature with the intentional craftsmanship and design sense of a master artist. Employed decoratively as light features and stand-alone sculptures, Rappaport’s work carries the implicit energetic benefits of natural crystals, bringing increased joy and serenity to the surroundings. Rappaport’s art can be found in galleries and private collections across the globe, from the United States to Japan. Each original artwork is completely unique and personally engraved with his signature and date. Hovave Rappaport lives and works in Los Angeles.
